Suuns

Formerly known as Zeroes, this Montreal four-piece clash electronic influences with post-punk in a way that makes me happy inside. Any song that can incorporate squelchy bass samples with synthesiser handclaps and legit guitar is a winner for me. Their 2010 release Zeroes QC slipped under my radar completely, and for that I apologise, Suuns. You didn't deserve it.

They're playing a SXSW showcase with the likes of Lia Ices and Okervill River on Wednesday, so all you smug lucky bastards in Austin should squeeze them into your schedules. Their murky quasi-pop sots in lovely contrast to their name and shows a level of restraint that I really rate.
